Council split on extra pay

With a 3-3 vote, the City Council of Alexander City shot down an a measure that would reinstate city employees’ annual pay supplement which was sacrificed in the 2009-2010 budget for the first time in 15 years.
The resolution required unanimous consent to be heard at the meeting and received it but failed when the council split during a vote on the item. Council members Mark Fuller, Bill Young and Lottie Wyckoff voted in support of the measure and council members Gaius Dean, Richard Langford and Bob Howard voted no.
